The Raging Waves Dream
Raging Waves began as a dream—sparked by founder Randy and shared with his wife, Dawn, and his late brother-in-law, Scott. After years of family road trips to water parks across the country, they turned inspiration into action.
In 2008, Raging Waves opened with 17 slides, a lazy river, a 350,000-gallon wave pool, and two restaurants.
15 summers later, we’ve grown into Illinois’ largest waterpark—spanning 58 acres with 32 slides, 43 private cabanas, 11 dining spots, and endless ways to make a splash.

Behind Our Name
There’s a small rock in the plaza at Raging Waves that holds a big meaning. Inscribed on it is a verse from Psalm 93:4—
“The Lord on high is mightier than the many waters, yea, than the raging waves of the sea.”
It’s more than a name. For owners Randy and Dawn, this verse reflects their faith and trust in God through every high and low. “We believe God is all-powerful and present in every part of this journey,” says Randy. “Even when life’s waters get rough, He carries us through.”
